Remove Personal Shield Pro virus. How do I get rid of Personal Shield Pro rogue program

Important message to our readers! There are two different malware programs bearing the name of Personal Shield Pro. If the virus you have on your PC is not like the one shown on the screenshot below then please go to this post which tells about other virus named Personal Shield Pro: http://remove-malwares.blogspot.com/2011/07/how-to-get-rid-of-personal-shield-pro.html

Personal Shield Pro is the virus program. Really, really we regret that your system got contaminated with this type of junk application. It will never become your shield against real viruses and infections, cause it is simply not capable of identifying or deleting real malwares. What it is capable for is to target your wallet with the intention to get some money out of it. You should not ever believe into its numerous faulty promises or statements, no matter how nice it might look. Just ignore Personal Shield Pro and keep in mind that you are dealing with serious enemy of your system.

Indeed, Personal Shield Pro is the enemy for computers due to the fact that it is known to create the following problems:

  • Possible redirects to other sites
  • Blockage of your browser (to prevent from downloading real anti-virus programs)
  • Inability to launch many executables (programs or applications)
  • Possible blockage of Task Manager
  • Unauthorized startup with every Windows startup
  • Annoying popups, ads on the continuous basis
  • Continuous slowdown of your PC functionality
  • Many other unpleasant things

From this list it is quite clear that the good anti-virus program would never behave like that. Personal Shield Pro does all the above-mentioned bad things in order to scare you into purchasing its supposed full version (also known as registered or commercial one). Personal Shield Pro arranges fake scanning processes of your system so that after they come to then end you would be horrified with plenty of malicious items supposedly identified on your computer. Never believe into any statement given by Personal Shield Pro. Even if real infections would be present on your machine Personal Shield Pro would not be able to remove them. As for those items reported by Personal Shield Pro they are all fake. Such infections do not exist in reality.

If this post hasn’t convinced you that Personal Shield Pro is the virus then go to Google and find some other articles about Personal Shield Pro. They will tell you the same facts about Personal Shield Pro virus. Our job was to convince you not to pay any cent for Personal Shield Pro scam. There are so many good things that you can invest your money in. Surely Personal Shield Pro is not the one you need to consider for investing money into. If you want to remove Personal Shield Pro then search for some decent anti-virus tool which will be able to perform the removal job. As the option, you may do it automatically by removing the files and registry entries of Personal Shield Pro virus as stipulated below.

Hi Andrew,

I've been trying to remove this for a while now. I've followed all the steps but when I try to install trojankiller, nothing happens, there is just a line shozing on the 'Process Killer' window (which say C:\Users...trojankiller2095-setup.tmp Terminated). Did I miss something?

I'll come back to check your video guide tomorrow!

Again thanks for the time you spent on this!

search for files with the extension "prpro"...

Press Windows button on your keyboard, then press "F" button. Search for "prpro" extension files.

===paulus=== said...

and I found in folder C:\WINDOWS\Prefects.

And what must I do?

Andrew McPherson said...

where is the first file you renamed located?
Then go ahead and follow the rest of the steps described in the second video

===paulus=== said...

N5IMMA8AB.PSPRO-02D84D8c.pf

becomes

N5IMMA8AB.EXE-02D84D8c.pf

Is it true which I do?

Andrew McPherson said...

these are probably the wrong files. The file you need to find should have *.pspro extension...

===paulus=== said...

I only find N5IMMA8AB.PSPRO-02D84D8c.pf

please help me!

===paulus=== said...

and there Personal Shield Pro logo in Customize Notifications.

Andrew McPherson said...

If you have windows 7 then search for this file here:
C:\ProgramData\
It should have some random name that does not make any sense

===paulus=== said...

but I uses Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3

Andrew McPherson said...

The file you need to rename should be just in the same place as shown in the video. Just make sure you see all hidden files and folders...
Change your "My computer" settings and make sure it shows all hidden files and folders

===paulus=== said...

How?

I found folder *.pspro from Start(Windows key)-> Search-> For Files and Folders-> choose All Files and Folders-> Look in: Local Hard Drives (C:)

and I gets N5IMMA8AB.PSPRO-02D84D8c.pf

===paulus=== said...

I'm having big problems with this fake. It has wiped everything from my desktop, blocked my internet and blocks all programmes from launching. Somehow it has also stooped me opening in safe mode as it just restarts the computer from the start of the process. With all of this I am struggling to stop it to enable me to kill it or even to wipe it and reinstall Windows. Help please!

I am afraid the same thing happened with me on 6th july. In he begining, I got very scared looking at the scanning! It changed my desktop and my music stopped playing suddenly. But after sometime, the scanning stopped and I thought eveything was OK. But, unfortunately, the dreadful virus in the form of "Personal Shield Pro" completely affected my exe. files. It corrupted my Task bar, and none of my applications and files were working.

* Possible redirects to other sites - NO
* Blockage of your browser (to prevent from downloading real anti-virus programs) - YES
* Inability to launch many executables (programs or applications) - YES!
* Possible blockage of Task Manager - YES!
* Unauthorized startup with every Windows startup - YES
* Annoying popups, ads on the continuous basis - NO
* Continuous slowdown of your PC functionality - YES!!
* Many other unpleasant things - YES YES

After a lot of study and research, I figured that the best way to do this would be to format the C drive (something noone ever wants to do)! But that was the only way I could get rid of Personal Shield pro (disgusting whoever created it)!

To all - please reinstall Windows (Take Backup of all your files)!
