Skype virus now spreads in the form of goo.gl links

Skype, of course, is a decent company and a decent program for online communication, and it has nothing to do with development of the below-mentioned malware. However, hackers invent various methods how to use Skype for their own malicious purposes. So, they've recently elaborated certain Trojan horse that actually infiltrates certain machine, by entering into Skype profile settings. Then the computer begins to massively spread various spam links, starting with goo.gl. This is why some users tend to name this infection as Skype virus, or sometimes even as goo.gl virus. But this is not the right way of understanding. Again, the point we're trying to make is that not all goo.gl links are infected. They can be some good links, but in this particular case we speak of a virus that now is massively distributed via hacked Skype accounts all over the world.

This virus (in the form of goo.gl links) may attack any machine, without hesitation. It comes as a message with the interrogation (question) about whether this is really your new Skype profile picture. Here is how it may sound in various cases:

  • hey er det din skype profil billede?
  • hey is this your skype profile pic
  • lol, is this your skype profile pic
  • ey eto vasha novaya kartina profil’?

Do not ever click such malicious links, even if they come from your friends of Skype contacts. The computer of your friend may be infected, so make sure to first check whether this message was really sent to you. Finally, follow the removal guide below that will explain how exactly to remove this virus.
