Problems with Skype. How to restore your Skype program

Today, on May 26, 2011, many users are having problems with their Skype account. For some reasons some kind of error pops-up and the Skype program is being shut down, without the possibility to run it again. The remedy is as follows: You need to remove the file shared.xml from the folder C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Skype. This is applicable for Windows 7 or Windows Vista operating systems.

If you have Windows XP then you can remove shared.xml file located at this address C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Skype Alternatively, it is also suggested by some experts to remove the file %AppData%\Skype\shared.xml (for Windows XP). This helps, but only for the short period of time. However, if you set the read-only atribute for the file shared.xml, this will finally heal your Skype account. Good luck to you!
